Support
Get help with MeetingRoll
Support is by email, and it is answered by the people who make the software — not a ticket queue. You do not need to be a customer to ask a question.
Email support
We aim to reply within one business day. Email is the only support channel — there is no phone line and no live chat, so writing to the address above is the fastest way to reach us rather than a fallback.
What to include
None of this is required — send what you have. It just means the first reply can usually be the answer instead of a question back.
- Your organization name
- What you were doing when the problem happened
- What you expected instead
- The Windows version on the check-in computer
- The make and model of your badge scanner, if it is a scanning problem
Before you write
Most questions we get are already answered in writing, and these three come up more than any others.
A badge will not scan
Most USB badge and barcode scanners present themselves to Windows as a keyboard. A quick way to tell whether the scanner or MeetingRoll is at fault: open Notepad and scan a badge. If the badge number appears in Notepad, the scanner is working and the problem is the employee list — usually that the badge number in the list does not match the number encoded on the badge. If nothing appears in Notepad, it is the scanner or its connection, before MeetingRoll is involved at all.
If you have not bought scanners yet and want to check compatibility first, ask us before you order anything.
An employee import did not work
MeetingRoll imports employee lists from Excel and CSV. The most common cause of a failed or partial import is a column the file does not actually contain — a badge or ID column that is named differently, or is missing for some rows. Email us the file, or a few rows of it with real names removed, and we will tell you what to change.
The imports section on the features page describes what a workable file looks like.
Where your data is, and getting it back
Your employee list and attendance records are stored on the Windows computer running MeetingRoll, not on our servers. That means we cannot recover your records for you if that computer is lost — but it also means we never hold your employee data. Use the built-in backup feature and keep the backup somewhere separate from the check-in machine.
The privacy policy sets this out in full.
Other questions
Buying MeetingRoll
Online checkout is not open yet, so purchases are arranged directly. Email support@meetingroll.com and we will set your organization up. The pricing page lists what each plan costs.
Which platforms are supported
MeetingRoll is Windows desktop software today, and that is the version to plan a rollout around. iPhone & iPad apps are planned but not released, and cannot be downloaded yet. Email us if you would like to hear when they ship.
Privacy and data requests
Requests about your own personal data go to support@meetingroll.com. If the request is about an employee's attendance record, contact the organization that ran the meeting — that record is on their computer, not ours. See the privacy policy.
